Library Subject Guides: New email address and charter

We are pleased to introduce a new email address for Library staff to request changes to subject guides, and a new Subject Guides charter.

Following the 2024 relaunch of Library Subject Guides and several successful spotlight updates, we have now created a new email address for Library staff to request any changes to guides and to suggest inclusions.

The inbox will be monitored regularly by Subject Guides Coordinator Vikki Garlick, and Sharaz Khan, Library Experience Coordinator, with requests triaged to our Metadata and Teaching, Learning and Students colleagues for in-depth advice.

At present, the email address will be a repository for queries from within the Library only, and will not be made available to University Teaching staff, who should be encouraged to discuss any requests with their Engagement Librarian in the first instance.

We are also pleased to take this opportunity to introduce a new Subject Guides Charter. This document, produced on behalf of the Collections Engagement Group (CEG) acts as a framework for governance and maintenance of the guides, listing responsibilities, schedules and timescales, and, as such, will act as a single point of truth for all in-house Subject Guide-related queries.
