AMBS Buddy Network
AMBS operates a colleague Buddy System, designed to help new colleagues settle in and feel supported. This has been implemented as part of the Wellbeing Action Plan and Staff Survey Results based on feedback from the School community around belonging.
To become a buddy, you must have worked within AMBS for at least one year, demonstrated a commitment to the School's values and culture, and be willing to dedicate time to supporting a new colleague.
You’ll be partnered with a new starter of a similar grade for a six-month period; however, either person may choose to end the partnership at any time and for any reason.
As a buddy your role would be to:
- offer guidance on navigating the building and utilising resources
- be available for regular check-ins and support
- be the person a buddy can ask any 'daft questions'.
The scheme is accessible and open to both academic and PS colleagues
If you or one of your team members would be interested in becoming a buddy, please click here.
If you have any questions, contact the AMBS Compliance & Estates team.
Wellbeing Email Framework
A new AMBS framework has been created to outline best practice and foster a healthy, respectful and productive email culture.
Highlights of the policy include: Respect for working hours, inbox management, communication clarity, accessibility, emotional tone, alternative communication methods, a culture of disconnecting.
The adoption of these guidelines will benefit all colleagues by promoting a healthier work-life balance, enhancing communication clarity, and reducing email-related stress. By following these best practices, we can create a more inclusive and supportive work environment for everyone.
