Ken McPhail

Kenneth McPhail

Ken McPhail became Head of Alliance Manchester Business School in 2023. He was previously Deputy Head and Director of Research and Vice Dean for Social Responsibility within the Faculty of Humanities.

Ken’s work is focused on various aspects of accounting ethics and corporate accountability and he is interested in the changing role of corporations in society, and the systems of accountability that emerge in relation to these roles.

Heiner Evanschitzky

Heiner Evanschitzky

Heiner is Director of Research and Professor of Marketing at AMBS. His research is focussed on retail, customer inspiration and store atmospherics, customer participation, relationship marketing, and profit chain models.

As Director of Research, he is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing AMBS research activities, developing new research proposals and mentoring research teams.

Anna Goatman 2

Anna Goatman

Anna is Director of Teaching and Learning with overall responsibility for the strategic and operational aspects of teaching, learning and student experience across undergraduate, MSc, MBA and executive education programmes.

Anna is also a Principal Fellow of Advance HE and a Professor of Marketing and Management Education. Her interests lie in services marketing, not-for-profit marketing, social marketing and marketing, and management education.

Javed Siddiqui resized

Javed Siddiqui

Javed is the Director for Social Responsibility (SR) and a Professor of Accounting. His research interests are auditing, corporate governance and CSR reporting, especially in the context of developing economies.

Javed is responsible for our ongoing commitment to make a positive difference to society and the environment through our teaching, research, public engagement and day-to-day operations.

He is also responsible for leading the Faculty of Humanities and AMBS strategy for social responsibility, public engagement and environmental sustainability in accordance with the University’s overall strategy.

Michelle Carter

Michelle Carter

Michelle is the Head of the Management Sciences and Marketing (MSM) Division and a Professor of Information Systems. 

Michelle’s research focuses on information technologies’ involvement in identity and social change, factors that shape IT usage behaviours, and information systems management.

Mark Healey

Mark Healey

Mark is Head of the Innovation, Management and Policy (IMP) Division and a Professor of Strategic Management. His research focuses on cognition and emotion in organisations, particularly how decision makers update their knowledge and thinking in response to changing conditions.

The IMP Division is made up of Innovate, Strategy and Sustainability and Health Management. It also includes MIOIR and the Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI).

Stuart Hyde

Stuart Hyde

Stuart is Deputy Head of AMBS, Head of the Accounting and Finance (A&F) Division and a Professor of Finance. His research interests focus on empirical finance, international finance and emerging markets.

The A&F Division has a reputation for excellence in research and teaching programmes. It has unrivalled links with professional bodies and industry and its research shapes practice and public policy.

Bryan Lukas

Bryan Lukas

Bryan is Academic Director of Executive Education and responsible for the strategic direction and development of the AMBS Executive Education portfolio. He is also a Professor of Marketing.

Executive Education at AMBS is a combined academic and commercial division with close to 100 staff members. Commercial operations cover custom, open, and apprenticeship programmes.

Sarah Featherstone

Sarah Featherstone

Sarah has been Director of School Operations for Alliance Manchester Business School since April 2022.

She is responsible for leadership and oversight across all aspects of Professional Services within the School and works closely with her Professional Services Leadership Team (PSLT) in evolving professional service excellence, facilities and infrastructure enhancements, and effective support to our core goals, strategic plan and operational priorities.

Sarah has worked at the University of Manchester for nearly 20 years and, alongside a long career in AMBS, has held leadership positions in both the School of Engineering and the Strategic Change Office.

Sarah reports into Hannah Rundle, Director of Faculty Operations.

Zabina Kosar-Ahmed

Zabina Kosar-Ahmed

Zabina Kosar-Ahmed is Head of Marketing, Communications and Recruitment and takes a lead in delivering the School’s communications, marketing and recruitment activity (MBA & Executive Education) and ensuring brand coherence with UG and Masters marketing and recruitment activity that is managed at a Faculty-level.

Zabina’s team support and manage the reputation of AMBS amongst all stakeholders, both internal and external; increasing engagement and communication with colleagues and positively influencing student recruitment.

As a member of AMBS’ Senior Leadership Team, PS Leadership Team and as a senior member of the Faculty of Humanities Marketing and Communications Leadership Team, Zabina is responsible for School communications, content and marketing activities including the delivery of advertising, publications, media relations and internal communications, corporate events, web presence and digital marketing, social media, market research and MBA and executive education marketing activities within AMBS.

Zabina reports into Kathryn Howard, Faculty of Humanities Head of Marketing, Communications and Recruitment.

Sarah Lindop

Sarah Lindop

Sarah is our People and OD Partner for AMBS. She works closely with managers to identify and deliver strategic priorities. Partners are responsible the employee lifecycle, including Recruitment, Employment Services, Payroll, Reward and Benefits, Policy, Job Evaluation, HR policies and the PDR process.

Sarah reports into Fiona Keenan, Faculty Head of People & OD.

Tracey Manifold

Tracey Manifold

Tracey is Head of Finance for AMBS and is responsible for managing the budget. Tracey is responsible for forecasting financial results, overseeing budget planning and conducting risk management. She also allocated resources and manages the School’s finances.

Tracey reports into David Boyd, Faculty Head of Finance.

Lee Pugalis

Lee Pugalis

Lee is the Acting Director of the Masood Entrepreneurship Centre (MEC). He is responsible for leading MEC's mission to drive and nurture the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs at the University of Manchester.

Lee reports into Ken McPhail.

George Voulgaris

George Voulgaris

George is the Director of EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at AMBS and is responsible for chairing the EDI Committee and ensuring that AMBS provides equality of opportunity for staff.

George also manages AMBS’ commitment to the Athena Swan award, which officially recognises the representation and progression of gender equality.

George reports into Ken McPhail.
