Please complete the University’s Health & Safety course. You will only be able to do this once you have Blackboard access.
The Health and Safety Policy is available here.
Risk assessments - Staff organising events should contact AMBS Conference to book suitable conference space and complete the relevant risk assessment.
If you would like to volunteer to become a First Aider or Fire Evacuation Marshal, please contact the School Safety Advisor to register your interest.
Children on campus guidelines
From Monday 23 September 2024, revised guidelines need to be considered when staff/PGRs request to bring children (under the age of 18) into the School.
Visits of under 30 minutes
Staff/PGRs who need to collect essential items to allow them to work from home, due to unforeseen last-minute changes to their usual childcare arrangements. As this is likely to be a last-minute request, staff/PGRs should complete a brief AMBS Essential Items Collection Form, on arrival. available in hard copy at Reception which will request information on time of arrival/departure and confirming the office visited. The child will be provided with a visitor pass which will be returned to Reception on departure.
Visits of more than 30 minutes
All other requests should be submitted at least 3-working days before the proposed visit by completing the AMBS Children on Campus Request form. Requests will be reviewed by a senior member of the AMBS Operations Teams.
If approved, a relevant risk assessment will be provided for completion. The child will be provided with a visitor pass which will be returned to Reception on departure.
Reception Area
Staff/PGRs waiting in Reception with children are welcome to do so for a short period of time, but children should always remain with them and safely seated. Please follow any directions from the Reception team.
Additional guidelines, including the University’s Safeguarding Policy, can be found here.
