What is Future Talent?

DSE Future Talent is a staff development programme specifically for DSE staff. It recruits annually, with places for a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 people each year. Recruitment takes place over the summer with an mid/late October start date and staff are notified of the opportunity via the DSE Team Brief.

The programme offers a pathway for DSE colleagues to:

  • enhance their personal effectiveness
  • learn more about the Directorate
  • gain experience of working on a project
  • enhance the ‘single team working’ ethos

The learning aspects of the programme are delivered via group workshops and one-to-one support. A key feature of the programme is the chance for participants to work on a DSE project within a different area to their own team, introducing them to new ways of working. We also try to ensure that participants work in project teams with colleagues from different areas of the Directorate, giving them the opportunity to make new connections and develop their network.
