ITL Teaching and Learning Conference 2026 brings colleagues and students together

Colleagues and students from across the University came together on 8 and 9 July for the ITL Teaching and Learning Conference 2026, a two-day event celebrating collaboration, innovation and evidence-informed practice in teaching and learning.
The conference provided an opportunity to share research, initiatives and practical approaches from across the University through plenary sessions, standard paper presentations, lightning talks and poster presentations. Attendees explored new ideas, exchanged experiences and reflected on their own teaching practice.
This year's programme was organised around three themes:
- Research-Informed Teaching and Learning
- Teaching and Learning as Innovation
- Social Justice in Teaching and Learning
The conference featured keynote contributions from Professor Helen Walkington, Dr Hardeep Basra, Professor Jenn Hallam and Professor John Holden, alongside presentations from colleagues and students across the institution.
Thank you to all presenters, attendees and session facilitators for helping to create an engaging and collaborative event. Special thanks also go to the Teaching Excellence Team, the Library Student Team, and Jennie Blake and Hannah Cobb for their work in planning and delivering the conference.
