Performing at Manchester

High performance comes from creating the right environment. One where people are clear about what they’re responsible for, encouraged to keep improving, and understand how their work links to our strategy. Regular, open conversations are key – they help us stay connected, aligned, and focused on what really matters.

Performing at Manchester is simply our way of encouraging those conversations to happen naturally and regularly.

It’s not a one‑off meeting or a tick‑box exercise. Instead, it’s about:

  • Being clear about priorities and what “good” looks like
  • Checking in little and often, rather than saving everything for an annual review
  • Giving feedback in the moment – both positive and constructive
  • Talking honestly about development, careers, and future plans

The idea is to create an environment where people feel comfortable having performance conversations, know where they stand, and feel supported to do their best work.
