Your chance to name our new Electronic Research Notebook

22 Jun 2026

Our Research Enablement team are rebranding the University’s new Electronic Research Notebook and need your help – send your suggestions for a new name by Friday, 26 June.

The University is implementing eLabFTW as the University’s supported Electronic Research Notebook with our Research Enablement team working with technical colleagues to prepare and ensure a smooth rollout later in the year.

Whilst they get on with that, they want to give colleagues the opportunity to put a Manchester spin on its name to make it feel more familiar and inclusive and reflect the true diversity of use cases available within the tool.

To be clear, the underlying software will indeed still be eLabFTW, but its on-screen appearance will feature a new name chosen by the research community.

To contribute your ideas, please join the ERN CaDiR community and complete our Microsoft Form to have your say on an alternative name for the ERN.
