Knowledge exchange

The University of Manchester has an extensive portfolio of world-class research and long-standing expertise in transferring knowledge and technology into businesses to solve real-world problems.

Our knowledge exchange schemes provide academics with the opportunity to develop mutually beneficial partnerships with external organisations across a broad range of disciplines, in order to support innovation and promote impact.

Knowledge exchange opportunities at The University of Manchester are delivered through the following schemes:

  • Industry Collaboration Funding (EPSRC IAA, BBSRC IAA and MRC P2D) - Providing a broad range of mechanisms to support knowledge exchange, from initial engagement and collaboration through to commercialisation
  • Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) - Europe’s leading programme providing academics with the unique opportunity to apply the outcomes of their research to real world business problems

Exemplar case studies showcasing how, through knowledge exchange, university research is being applied to deliver economic, social and cultural impact, can be viewed here.

*Please note that other Impact Accounts operate within the university, although they are not managed by the Knowledge Exchange Team and have other localised web presence.
