Upcoming changes to car parking access, PAYG parking rates, and EV charging

A number of upcoming changes and reminders will affect staff who use University car parks, including Bank Holiday access arrangements, pay as you go (PAYG) parking rates increasing in line with our Travel Plan for 2025-2030, and the reactivation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points.
Bank Holiday Car Parks Access
On Monday 4 and Monday 25 May, Booth Street West multistorey car park will be closed. Access to all other car parks will operate as normal. Electric Vehicle Chargers
Following the withdrawal of BP Pulse from the EV chargers on campus, a new supplier has now been identified and all EV chargers at Booth Street West and Cecil Street car parks are once again active. The new supplier is Elmpark, and further details on use of the chargers can be found on our website, alongside an instruction manual.
Vehicle Details
Have you changed your vehicle? Did you inform the Permit Office? If you have changed your vehicle in recent months or years, and didn’t inform the Permit Office, please email carparking@manchester.ac.uk with the registration, make, model and colour to ensure your account is up to date.
UoM Vehicle Stickers
The Permit Office has been issuing window stickers to users of the Aquatics car park for around 12 months, which are displayed in the corner of the windscreen when using the car park, to easily identify permit holders, in case there are any access issues. This system will begin roll out to users of all car parks, to enable the car parking team to assist users in the most appropriate way, if access cannot be gained with an ID or permit card, or if a card has been lost, changed, or forgotten.
