Travel plan 2025-2030: Car park pricing to increase next week
23 May 2025
Previously announced changes to car parking charges will take effect from Friday, 30 May
Earlier this year, we revealed further details about the University’s new Travel Plan for 2025-2030 which align with our ongoing commitment to the Environmental Sustainability Strategy. As part of this, previously announced changes to the car parking policy will be in effect from Friday, 30 May, alongside the introduction of a new Electric Vehicle charging tariff.
The new plan aims to reflect the University’s commitment to reducing our carbon emissions by encouraging sustainable transport alternatives to traditional fuel vehicles, such as cycling, walking, wheeling, and public transport.
New charges effective from Friday, 30 May
For more information on the new charges effective from Friday, 30 May, please visit our Staff Parking page. Charging will continue to be based on grade, with an annual increase.
Electric Vehicle (EV) parking charges and charging tariff
From Friday, 30 May, we will also be implementing a new charging tariff on EV charge points at Cecil and Booth Street West car parks to help us address inefficient usage, extended charging sessions, and increased energy costs. To find out more about the new charges, please see our previous article.
