Big White Wall offers help with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems and lifestyle challenges

Take notice

A record number of students and staff have been using our 24/7 online mental health and wellbeing platform since the closure of non-essential facilities on campus.

Big White Wall, which launched through our Student Experience Programme, offers help with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems and lifestyle challenges. It is anonymous, confidential, and monitored 24/7 by clinical professionals.

Sarah Littlejohn, Head of Campus Life, said: “The wellbeing of our students and staff has always been one of our top priorities as a University and our investment in Big White Wall last year was a testament to that.

“Perhaps unsurprisingly over the past few weeks we’ve seen a significant increase in demand for the platform with a 300% increase in sign-ups in March compared to February.

I’m pleased that so many members of our University community are proactively managing their mental wellbeing through tools such as Big White Wall.

“If you haven’t done so already, I’d encourage you to take a few minutes to sign up for the service to see if it might be of benefit to you. Please also promote the service to your students where this could help.”
