Oracle Fusion launches in November

Getting ready and finding support

Oracle Fusion becomes the University’s new People and Finance system this November, bringing a range of everyday processes together in one platform. As we prepare for go-live of the first release, here’s what is changing, what you can do now and where to find support.

In the video below, colleagues from across the University join our President and Vice-Chancellor, Duncan Ivison, to explain what’s new, why it matters and how Oracle Fusion will help us deliver our strategy, From Manchester, for the world. Whether you’re booking annual leave, claiming expenses or checking your payslip, taking a little time to prepare will help you get started.

What’s changing?

Oracle Fusion is replacing MyView for several everyday activities, including:

  • Booking annual leave
  • Reporting absences
  • Claiming expenses
  • Accessing payslips and payroll information

Oracle Fusion is designed to make these tasks simpler and more consistent by bringing them together in one place. It will also mean learning some new ways of working.

Three things you can do now

1. Explore the training resources

Make time before go-live to explore the resources relevant to you. You can access training recordings, quick guides, helpful resources and answers to common questions to help you get familiar with Oracle Fusion.

2. Download your historic pay documents

If you would like to keep copies of previous payslips, P60s or other pay documents, download them from MyView before the end of January 2027. MyView will no longer be available after that date.

Watch the tutorial below for guidance on downloading your payslips and P60s from MyView.

3. Know where to find help

Familiarise yourself with the support options below and complete the key activities and actions in your checklist. You do not need to know everything on day one: use the guidance and ask for help when you need it.

Support from go-live

Moving to a new system is a significant change, and it will take time to build confidence. From go-live, the following support will be available to help you and your teams:

  • A checklist setting out key activities and actions
  • Drop-in sessions offering in-person, real-time support
  • Additional online training sessions
  • A chatbot available 24/7 to help with questions
  • Training resources to refer to as you learn
  • Oracle Guided Learning, providing step-by-step guidance within Oracle Fusion
  • Support from the Change Champions network
  • Technical support through Connect: raise a ticket if you need further help

What to expect after go-live

Go-live is an important milestone, not the end of the work. With a change of this scale, we should not expect everything to be perfect from day one. Some tasks may take longer while we get used to new processes, and issues may emerge as colleagues begin using the system in their everyday work.

Our approach will be to ‘fix forward’: identify issues, understand their impact and work through them as we move ahead. That means prioritising fixes, making improvements and updating guidance as we learn. It does not mean overlooking problems or expecting colleagues to manage without support, and not every issue will have an immediate solution.

If something is not working as expected, use the support routes above rather than struggling on your own. When raising a technical issue through Connect, explain what you were trying to do, what happened and how it is affecting your work. Your feedback will help us understand what needs attention and improve the experience for everyone.

Please allow yourself and others time to learn. We will work through the challenges together, responding to issues as they arise and building confidence in the new ways of working.

Have a question about the move to Oracle Fusion? Contact the programme team. For technical issues, please raise a ticket through Connect.
