Parents and carers garden party – at Broomcroft!

Duncan plays host to University of Manchester Parents, Carers & Guardians Network on Friday, 18 September.
The University of Manchester Parents, Carers and Guardians Network are holding their annual Autumn Garden Gathering on Friday, 18 September 2026.
The event is one of the network’s annual family gatherings, designed to bring together parents, carers, guardians and their families in a relaxed and welcoming environment. This year is particularly special as they will be gathering in Professor Duncan Ivison’s garden at Broomcroft, combining their end-of-summer family celebration with an opportunity to welcome the new academic year together.
The afternoon will include food and refreshments, family-friendly games and activities, informal networking and plenty of opportunities for our community to connect.
The network has intentionally designed the event around family life. As 3.30pm coincides with the school run for many families, members can come directly from school – uniforms, school bags and all! Families can simply arrive when they can and join the afternoon.
There will also be the very informal Cakes and Conversations with Professor Duncan Ivison, creating an opportunity to hear from Duncan and reflect together on Manchester 2035 and the year ahead.
Places are limited and registration is essential.
