You've helped 50 young care leavers this Christmas!
15 Dec 2025
Thanks to the kindness of our University community, we have exceeded our fundraising target for this year’s Manchester Christmas Dinner – an annual initiative that brings a Christmas day to young care leavers aged 18-25, who would otherwise be alone.
Initially aiming to hit an online fundraising target of £3,000, thanks to generous donations, we’ve raised an incredible £4,356 from amazing donors, though our University’s ambitious Challenge Accepted campaign.
In addition, a fundraising raffle that has toured across campus venues in December has also raised £1,600! Thank you for your incredible support – the draw is happening next week and we will post a list of the winners in the new year.
These brilliant funds combined, mean we’ve been able to fill every spot at our Christmas table and create an extra-special Christmas Day for all 50 care-experienced young people.
Watch the film below to hear from last years’ guests to see what the event means to them, and how your incredible support makes a difference.
