Dealing with Confirmation and Clearing telephone calls

Thursday, 14 August is A-Level results day and as always, we’re expecting a very high volume of phone calls to the University

The central Confirmation and Clearing hotlines will be in operation again this year, staffed by approximately 190 colleagues.
Hotline staff will be based in the Nancy Rothwell Building. The central hotlines run alongside activity taking place in Faculty admissions teams and usually sees upwards of 10,000 calls over the Clearing period; 6,000 of these alone being answered on results day.
Where to direct calls
Each year our switchboard is inundated with calls over the Confirmation and Clearing period. To reduce pressure on the switchboard and hotline teams, please do not give out the central switchboard number. Instead, direct all applicant enquiries to our Clearing website, which is the fastest way to access current vacancies and requirements.
