Library Training and Support Summer 2025
The Library continues to support our students and researchers throughout the summer with a wide range of workshops, online resources, and drop-in sessions.

Textbook Rescue: Donate old textbooks to the Library!
The Library is welcoming donations of old or unwanted textbooks through our Textbook Rescue programme. Bring any books to the Customer Service desk at Main Library.
Last year we rescued over 500 books! Help us rescue more books this year.

The Manchester Digital Dante Library
The University of Manchester Library is pleased to announce that the first part of the Digital Dante Library, one of the culminating outputs of the ‘Envisioning Dante’ project, is now available, with second and third parts being added over the course of 2025. Our Spaces
Closure of Alan Gilbert Learning Commons and Main Library over the summer.
Estates and Facilities are leading on two key refurbishments in the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons (AGLC) and Main Library. These works require each building to be closed for some time. Please refer to our news page for more information.
Reminder: Muriel Stott Building Summer Closure
Muriel Stott in Main Library will be closed from Friday, 30 May until the beginning of academic year (2025/26). Building works will be taking place for the redevelopment of the space over the Summer period
