UCU strike action paused for the next two weeks

18 Feb 2023

Strike action due to take place on 21, 22, 23, 27, 28 February and 1, 2 March, will not now go ahead.

The University and College Union (UCU) last night announced that their current strike action will be paused for the next two weeks following progress in negotiations this week facilitated by the Arbitration, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) involving the Universities and Colleges Employers Assocation (UCEA) and trade unions.

This means that strike action due to take place on 21, 22, 23, 27, 28 February and 1, 2 March, will not now go ahead.

University operations, including teaching, learning, research and support will therefore be operating fully and normally in the next two weeks. Any colleagues who may have been due to strike during this period will work as usual.

We have also updated our students and postgraduate researchers with this information.

Kind regards,

Andrew Mullen, Deputy Director of People and Organisational Development.
