The annual publication is produced by teams from the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR) and the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment (DCMSR) and is used to engage and inspire our global alumni community.

The summer 2022 edition includes a range of features, opinion pieces and pictures that showcase the amazing work taking place across the University in pursuit of our core goals, themes and values. Highlights include:

  • A man on a mission – a profile of Gareth Owen OBE, University alumnus and Humanitarian Director of Save the Children UK.
  • Inspiring the Black leaders of tomorrow – an interview with George Obolo who placed fifth in the 100 Most Outstanding Black University Students in the UK 2021.
  • A bold future for cancer research – a feature on the new Paterson Building and its potential to change the course of life-changing cancer research in Manchester and beyond.
  • Lemn’s legacy – a celebration of our former Chancellor, Lemn Sissay, and the impact he had on our community during his tenure.

Tom Fern, Senior Communications Officer, DDAR says:

“Our global community of more than 550,000 alumni and supporters are at the heart of so much of what we do at the University. The magazine is a celebration of what we can achieve together – whether that’s supporting what we’re doing here in Manchester, like helping us to create a life-saving cancer centre; or by shaping a better, fairer world for all by devoting their lives to helping others. The magazine always inspires people to take action. We can’t wait to see what impact it has this year.”
