Update: car parks access and rail strike action

21 Jun 2022

Colleagues unable to travel by train due to rail strike action can use our University car parks without charge throughout the week

Further to last Friday’s announcement concerning the rail strikes this week, the barriers across all University car parks will now remain raised between Tuesday, 21 June and Saturday, 25 June inclusive.

Although the rail network re-opens on 22 and 24 June, it is unlikely that there will be a normal service between the strike days, and we are therefore keeping the barriers open for access throughout the rest of the week, including the final strike day this Saturday, to ensure colleagues who would normally travel to work by train are able to drive in and park without charge.

All permit holders will also be able to park on these days without charge.

Important note:

Please note free parking at the Aquatics Centre car park is NOT available, as this is not a University managed car park.
