Alison Shedlock wins hospitality ‘Oscar’

Our Assistant Director Estates and Facilities – Head of Campus Services takes Public Sector Caterer Award at the Cateys, which recognises achievement in the hospitality and catering sector

Our Assistant Director Estates and Facilities – Head of Campus Services, Alison Shedlock has won the Public Sector Caterer Award at the Cateys, which recognises achievement in the hospitality and catering sector.

The Cateys Public Sector Caterer Award honours an individual or organisation who has made an outstanding contribution to the cost sector in a trying year. The winner must show the ability to combine innovation with sound financial performance, as well as being able to demonstrate clear achievements.

Director of Estates and Facilities, Diana Hampson said: “We are delighted with Alison’s award – it is certainly well deserved. She and her team work very hard to feed our students, who are away from home, as well as University colleagues.

“We’re also proud of the impact they make to our goal of Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability aims.”

Alison said: “I feel extremely honoured to have been awarded the Public Sector Caterer Catey.  To be recognised by the industry I love, hospitality, especially after the past year we have had. This award is a career high for me.

“I am proud to lead the University Hospitality and Events team and feel privileged to be able to make a difference not only to our students but to but to our Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability as well.”

“I am absolutely tickled pink.”
