Our President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Nancy Rothwell has visited the Security team to thank them for their hard work on campus, especially in Fallowfield.

Nancy visited the CCTV-operator area where she learnt how Security protect our community, and also how the new SafeZone app works.

SafeZone, part of the Student Experience Programme (SEP), is our new mobile app designed to give students and staff extra peace of mind when coming to campus or living in accommodation, particularly during the current pandemic.

It allows you to contact our COVID-19 helpline to ask any questions, report concerns and get advice on how to report a positive COVID-19 test. It also allows you to contact our Security team directly if you are in an immediate emergency or require first aid.

Reflecting on the visit, Nancy said: “I enjoyed meeting with Security colleagues and hearing about their experiences.

“Many of our teams from the Directorate of Estates and Facilities have been working hard on campus throughout the pandemic to ensure that our campus is safe during this challenging time. I would like to thank these colleagues once again for all the work they do.”
