Wellbeing at UoM – get involved!

29 Apr 2019

During the last year our staff wellbeing team have worked hard to enhance our wellbeing offerings to staff

Wellbeing

To complement our established wellbeing groups, fitness classes and workshops, we have been delighted this year to have launched a series of popular monthly wellbeing lectures, held a wide range of events and training courses including our menopause event, sleep and energy sessions, developed and launched manager training on wellbeing and our popular ‘Thrive’ workshops for individuals and teams.

We have a network of 70 wellbeing champions across the university – and we are recruiting! We launched our Wellbeing Champions network in January 2018. Since then the network has gone from strength to strength, with champions organising their own activities and helping to support our University wide initiatives.

Would you like to join our team of Wellbeing Champions, helping us to share wellbeing messages and promote events? Being a Champion is voluntary, and there is no set commitment of time – you just support us where you can.  Training is provided and we have regular Wellbeing Champion team get togethers to share plans and ideas.

Our Champion team is currently under represented with male and BAME champions and we’d love to make the team more inclusive. We’d also like to encourage more academic colleagues to join us.

The next training course for Wellbeing Champions is Wednesday, 3 July.
