How the Staff Survey 2019 could help Trinity House

26 Mar 2019

Your donations could help fund a community garden in Rusholme

Trinity House

As part of this year’s Staff Survey 2019, the University is contributing £1 to local charities for every completed survey – this donation will be doubled if we receive over 8,000 responses.

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their survey. So far this has helped us to raise £5752 for local charities. Here’s how you’ve chosen to pledge your donations:

Big Change Campaign: £3167

City of Trees: £1519

LINK Good Neighbours (Trinity House): £862

How Trinity House plan to use your donations

Trinity House, a thriving community centre in the heart of Rusholme, provides a safe and accessible environment for everyone - children, young people, parents, carers and the elderly.

They proudly welcome people from more than fifteen ethnic groups to the centre, and their services include a children’s playgroup, a lunch club for those over 50 or with mobility issues, and a drop-in mental health support group.  The warm and accepting environment means anyone locally, feeling isolated or lonely, will be welcomed.

Thanks to our Staff Survey 2019 donation, Trinity House is developing a community garden in their grounds.  With assistance from Sow the City, who offered advice and guidance on developing the gardens, and the community gardening group Incredible Edible, Imogen and the team have already built two raised beds, and began to sow a number of seeds and beans. As well as a food growing group, which will offer its produce for free to the local community to enjoy, their aim is for the currently unused area to become a sociable outside space for the surrounding neighbourhood.

Make sure charities don’t miss out!

If you haven’t yet completed the Staff Survey 2019, you’ve got until Friday, 8 April 2019 to give the Leadership Team your views about your working environment. Completing the survey will help raise even more money for these three charities, and it will also mean you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win one of £250 vouchers for a mini-break.

You’ll be asked at the end of the survey which charity – from a choice of three – you would like to send your donation to.
