Mediators wanted!

05 Jan 2022

University looking for volunteers to join our in-house mediation scheme – full accredited training given

Hands up

We are looking for volunteers to join our in-house mediation scheme at the University, for which full accredited training will be given.

Are you a good listener… non-judgemental… able to keep calm and help people see different perspectives? Are you committed to helping colleagues manage their differences constructively to enable long term sustainable working relationships? Then why not volunteer to be a trained mediator?

Mediators play a vital role at the University and help us support staff who may experience bullying, harassment, discrimination or microaggressions. All of which – in any form – will not be tolerated at the University.

We are continuously striving to ensure staff feel supported in their working environments, and should an issue arise, that they are aware of the services and resources available to them.

If you would like more information about training to be a volunteer mediator, or have any questions, please contact Tahira Majothi at:

Virtual Mediation Webinar

Mediation specialists CMP Resolutions will be hosting an online information and recruitment webinar to help you find out more about the role, ask questions about what being a mediator is all about and the application process.

The webinar is taking place on the following days:

  • Friday, 28 January 2022, 10–11am
  • Friday, 11 February 2022, 10–11am

Please email Tahira Majothi by Friday, 21 January to register for either of these webinars:

On the webinar our mediation specialist, CMP Resolutions will:

  • Explain how mediation works
  • Discuss the positive impact it can have on workplace tensions, conflict and stress
  • Explain how it would work in your organisation and what kind of person is generally suited to be a mediator
  • Give you an opportunity to ask questions
  • Let you know how you can volunteer to be a mediator
