27 Apr 2021

Message from Professor Luke Georghiou, Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor on how the pandemic has impacted our long-term plans – and a chance to contribute

Over the past 12 months I’ve had the pleasure of chairing the Foresight Group, which was established to consider the impacts of the pandemic on our long term plans.

Today we publish the findings of the Group, which both reinforce the importance of the priorities within our strategic plan, add further emphasis to current plans in places, and signal new considerations.

The University sector will be facing significant uncertainties for some time, and whilst not attempting to resolve these, the findings of the Group will contribute to our ability to navigate and plan for the long term through this period of uncertainty.  To see the summary report and further details of the Group, please visit:

The findings are based on a diverse range of colleague and student input, generated through a programme of work including surveys, focus groups and workshops, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this work.
