President’s Question Time goes live

03 Apr 2014

Watch the video of the first ever live question and answer session between an audience of staff members and the President and members of her Senior Leadership Team.

Held in response to the Staff Survey 2013, the event on Tuesday, 1 April gave staff an opportunity to feed their views upwards to the University's Senior Leadership Team and to hear their responses face to face.

The President was joined by Karen Heaton, Director of Human Resources; Steve Mole, Director of Finance; and Professor Martin Humphries, Staff Survey Steering Group Chair, who responded to questions on the following topics selected by colleagues in an online poll:

  • Staff career development
  • University's financial situation
  • Staff Survey (Behaviours, Leadership, PDR, Reward and Recognition)

Media Relations Manager Jon Keighren welcomed the audience, introduced the panel members and kept the proceedings running along smoothly.

As the cameras rolled and the first ever ‘President’s Question Time’ went live, the event trended on Twitter. Staff were invited to join in with comments and questions on Twitter during the event.

President's Question Time had 350 views during its live broadcast on StaffNet and was also filmed:
