I am Cara a trainee audiologist and student at University of Manchester.
Many of us now use headphones on a day-to-day basis for work or recreational use.
I’m carrying out a research project on how the recreational use of earphones for gaming and personal listening devices is related to hearing ability.
I would be very grateful if you would fill out my survey about your earphone usage and auditory symptoms.
To take part in the study you will need to:
- Be between the ages of 18-40.
Unfortunately, you will not be suitable for the study if you have had:
- A diagnosis of hearing loss.
- Surgery to the ears.
- Exposure to the following treatments or medications; chemotherapy, radiotherapy, aminoglycosides (these include: gentamycin, streptomycin, neomycin).
- Trauma to the head where you were knocked unconscious.
