Musicians and non-musicians needed for an online study of hearing and balance

We are looking for participants in a research study to assess the effect of the balance system to the hearing in normally hearing adults-musicians and non-musicians.

To take part you must:

 

  • If you are a musician: Actively play an instrument at least 3 days a week, for at least the last 3 years.
  • If you are non-musician: No experience of formal musical training (did not actively play an instrument at least 3 days a week in the last 3 years)
  • Aged 19-45 years old
  • Not have a clinically defined hearing loss
  • Not have ear malformation and disorders, neurological or systemic disease, ototoxic/ vestibulotoxic drug use

 

As part of this, you will be asked to complete two separate online testing sessions as questionnaires and tests throughout the academic year.

All questionnaires will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.
