Final call: join this year’s Teaching and Learning Conference
23 Jun 2026
There’s still time to secure one of the last remaining places at this year’s Teaching and Learning Conference – a key opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the people, practices and ideas shaping learning at Manchester.
Taking place over two days on 8-9 July, the conference brings colleagues together from across the University to share practice, reflect on what works, and explore how we can shape the future of teaching, learning and the wider student experience.
The programme features a mix of plenary sessions, presentations and discussions, offering space to think differently, connect teaching with research and innovation, and explore themes including research-informed teaching, social justice and teaching as innovation.
Whether you’re directly involved in teaching, supporting learning, or contributing to the student experience in any way, the conference offers a chance to step back, gain fresh perspectives, and take away ideas you can apply in your own work.
To give a flavour of what’s in store, Reimala Sivalingam, Director of Undergraduate Programmes and Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance, has shared a short video message for colleagues. In it, she explains why colleagues should attend, reflects on how the conference has supported her own work and development in previous years, and highlights the value of coming together to exchange ideas and learn from others across the University. Her perspective offers a genuine insight into the benefits of getting involved – from discovering new approaches to building connections across our teaching and learning community.
If you can’t attend in person, you can still join online to watch the plenaries and selected sessions, making it easy to be part of the conversation wherever you are.
