MC&E project: November update
03 Dec 2025
The Mitigating Circumstances & Extensions (MC&E) project is improving how requests for mitigating circumstances and extensions are supported across the University. This month’s update shares recent progress and ongoing work.
EY have now joined as implementation partner, bringing experience from recent University-wide service delivery projects. Early discovery workshops are underway to shape requirements, integrations and the foundations of the new ServiceNow build. As design and build progress into 2026, the project plans to run demo and walkthrough sessions to give Schools and academics early visibility of the developing system and opportunities to provide feedback.
The team has also met with Faculty Teaching & Learning Committees to share progress and gather input, which is helping shape a clearer engagement approach for the new year. Alongside this, joint impact assessments with Student Support and Assessment & Progression colleagues are supporting policy alignment and identifying key touchpoints across the current MC&E journey.
Draft versions of the new MC&E forms are being refined with input from the Disability Advisory Support Service and Mental Health Support Team to ensure they are clear, accessible and ready for upcoming testing with staff and students.
