Media Services transfer to IT Services

16 Jul 2026

Colleagues working in our University’s Media Services team will transfer from Estates and Facilities to the Directorate of IT Services on 1 August 2026.

This positive step brings together closely connected services across teaching spaces, events, e-learning, media capture and wider digital delivery, providing a great opportunity to strengthen how these come together across the University.

PJ Hemmaway, Chief Information Officer said: “I'm really pleased to welcome Trevor and the Media Services team to IT Services. The work they do is a vital part of how our University delivers teaching, events and digital experiences. Barra and I are committed to continuing the close partnership between Estates and Facilities and IT Services, ensuring Media Services continues to thrive while creating new opportunities to enhance the services we deliver together.”

The service will initially sit within the Division of Campus Technology Services, under the leadership of Associate Director Christopher Heeley.

There will be a phased approach to the move to protect day-to-day delivery:

  • A short transition period with minimal change, maintaining continuity across teaching spaces, events and clusters.
  • Followed by a structured transformation phase focused on integration, capability development and service improvement.

IT Services will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the University as this develops and make sure there’s space for feedback along the way.
