Art and science collide in this exploration of the quantum universe!
Our universe is filled with profound mysteries that continue to inspire awe and wonder. How did it all begin? Is the multiverse the stuff of science fiction? What lies at the heart of enigmatic black holes?
Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement is excited launch its new Curious Universe season with the touring exhibition Cosmic Titans, on show from Friday, 1 May until Sunday, 20 September 2026. The season will feature a diverse programme of activities and events celebrating the wonders of quantum science, which examines matter and energy at the subatomic level to answer some of the Universe’s biggest questions.
Featuring spectacular sculptures and photography, Cosmic Titans offers a chance to play with abstract scientific concepts, journey to the extreme corners of our reality, and discover how cutting-edge quantum research is a lot closer to our day-to-day lives than we might think.
The exhibition was commissioned by the University of Nottingham's ARTlab from artists who spent time alongside world-leading scientists, observing research in areas such as gravitational waves, dark matter, black holes, and the early Universe. The resulting works invite audiences to look beyond the visible and imagine the hidden realities that underpin our cosmos.
