The word stress highlighted in pink

Stress is something that affects many of us at some point in our lives and can stem from one major life event or a build-up of several personal and/or work-related pressures over time.

Work can be rewarding, but it can also sometimes feel demanding. We know from colleagues feedback that workplace pressure can result from conflicting demands, tight deadlines, unclear roles, workload, organisational changes and not feeling supported.

Most people feel pressure at some point in their lives, but when pressures build up without space to recover, they can impact on our wellbeing. We want colleagues to know there is a range of support available including practical tools and clear pathways for help at the times when work-related pressures start to feel overwhelming.

Learn more about stress and the support available

There are two upcoming webinars available to help you better understand what causes stress, the signs and symptoms and the strategies within your control to help manage times of stress:

What to do if you are experiencing stress at work or someone in your team is experiencing stress at work

As part of strengthening our workplace support pathways for work-related stress, we have reviewed and updated our individual stress risk assessment template and guidance. Additionally, a team wellbeing and stress risk assessment has been introduced which can be used for one or multiple teams. A dedicated stress management workshop is also available to support people leaders in implementing these tools.
