Professor Sir Andre Geim to begin part-time sabbatical with The University of Hong Kong

Alongside his ongoing research role at The University of Manchester
Professor Sir Andre Geim, Nobel Prize-winning physicist best known for his work on the isolation and characterisation of graphene, will undertake a part-time sabbatical year with The University of Hong Kong (HKU), further strengthening collaboration between two universities committed to turning fundamental science into world-changing innovation. He will remain Regius Professor of Physics at Manchester throughout this period.
The appointment reflects the increasingly global nature of frontier science and the importance of trusted international partnerships in advancing research excellence.
Professor Sarah Sharples, Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at The University of Manchester, said:
