Focus on Lifestyle Medicine - discover the power of lifestyle for better health and longevity

October marks Menopause Awareness Month, with World Menopause Day taking place on Saturday, 18 October. This global campaign aims to raise awareness of the menopause and highlight the support available to support health and wellbeing.
We encourage all colleagues to engage with the Menopause conversation, whether you’re directly experiencing menopause or supporting someone who is. Understanding and empathy make a real difference.
The theme for World Menopause Day 2025 is ‘Lifestyle Medicine’ highlighting the everyday choices we make that can have a real impact on managing menopause symptoms and supporting long-term health.
Lifestyle medicine focuses on four key pillars:
- Nutrition
- Stress
- Sleep
- Movement
We’ve refreshed our Menopause Webpages with updated information and practical resources to support these lifestyle pillars.
Events
We are delighted to offer a number of events during Menopause Awareness Month. All our events are inclusive and we actively encourage all colleagues to join us to keep the conversation going at the University.
All events are open to all menopausal people: this includes everyone who goes through menopause or menopausal symptoms as a result of hormonal changes and we recognise that perimenopause and menopause transition impacts trans and non-binary colleagues.
