Welcome Week 2025 underway – everything you need to support our new students

Welcome Week 2025 kicks off today (Monday 22 September), marking the start of an exciting period for our new undergraduate and postgraduate taught students.
This week, colleagues from across the University will be supporting a wide range of activities, from orientation sessions to social events - designed to help students settle in, build connections, and feel part of our community from day one.
Key events include:
- Start of Year Fair – Taking place Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 September in the Welcome Marquee outside University Place. Students can meet key University services and get their experience off to a flying start.
- Freshers Fair – Happening Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 September at Manchester Academy. Expect fun activities, freebies, and the best student deals in Manchester.
- Campus Tours – Running daily, on the hour every hour between 10am and 3pm; from Monday 22 to Friday 26 September. Students can join our AskMe Ambassadors for guided walking tours of campus.

AskMe Support
To help new students feel welcomed and supported, staff across campus will be wearing AskMe badges throughout the Welcome period. These badges show that staff are available to assist students with any questions they may have.
If you’d like to get involved and collect an AskMe badge, you can pick one up from the Student Hub or from the Atrium on the first floor of University Place.
Our AskMe ambassadors will also be stationed at key campus locations, ready to offer help and guidance. The Welcome website is being updated regularly with the latest information and advice to support students as they settle in.
Library Support
The Library is helping new and returning students to ‘Get Started’, including tours of the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons.
