Book now: Townhall with Professor Duncan Ivison on our Manchester 2035 strategy
01 Sep 2025
Join us on Tuesday, 9 September, 1pm – 2pm to hear an early preview of our new ten-year strategy.

President & Vice-Chancellor Duncan Ivison will host an interactive session giving an early insight into the direction our University will take over the next decade.
Our Manchester 2035 strategy has been shaped by thousands of contributions from colleagues, students, alumni and partners. From this, two key building blocks of our strategy have emerged:
- Foundations: the core commitments our community believes must be true in any future – they define what we need to get right to succeed.
- Leaps: the bold, strategic choices that will take us further and faster, setting a new trajectory for the kind of university the future demands.
At the townhall, Duncan will share how these foundations and leaps are shaping our ambition, with time for open questions and discussion. The final strategy will be launched on 15 October 2025, with another townhall then to explore it in detail.
What to expect:
- An early preview of the foundations and leaps at the heart of our new University strategy.
- A chance to ask questions directly about the new direction.
- An interactive session using Mentimeter where you can share your perspective – from the leaps most relevant to your role to what success in 2035 means to you.
