Still using a Windows 10 laptop or desktop PC? Arrange your upgrade soon.
21 Aug 2025
If you’re using a Windows 10 laptop or desktop PC, you should arrange for your Windows 11 upgrade as soon as possible.

As you may be aware, Microsoft Windows 10 will go out of support on Tuesday 14 October 2025. After this date, Microsoft will not provide any updates for it, including critical security fixes.
This means that any University desktop or laptop PCs which are still using Windows 10 will need to be upgraded to Windows 11 or replaced, as otherwise they will leave the University exposed to an increased cyber risk.
Laptop users can arrange to bring their laptops in for the upgrade, and desktop PC users can install the upgrade themselves.
