Join our Researcher Development team for their Postdoc Appreciation Week as we celebrate the journeys and achievements of our postdoctoral researchers.
This year's event – on Tuesday, 16 September, from 10.45 am to 1.30pm in the Simon Building, Rooms 3.44a and 3.44b – includes bonding at Postdoc Bingo, the inspiring Research Staff Excellence Awards and honest stories from the Postdoc Journeys Panel. There are also drop-in sessions for 1:1 Coaching, CV feedback and Massage therapy.
Postdoc Bingo networking activity
Postdoc Bingo is a fun and interactive way to break the ice and connect with fellow postdoctoral researchers during the event.
This activity is designed to encourage conversation, laughter, and new connections in a relaxed environment. Whether you’re new to the community or a familiar face, Postdoc Bingo offers everyone a chance to engage and share experiences.
- Pick up your bingo card on arrival and start mingling with other attendees.
- Each square on the card represents a unique experience or achievement common among postdocs.
- Strike up conversations to find colleagues who match the descriptions on your card.
- Complete a row, column, or the entire card for a chance to win a small prize and, more importantly, to make new connections.

Research Staff Excellence Awards
The Research Staff Excellence Awards are a highlight of the day, providing an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our postdoctoral community.
- Celebrate the achievements of colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their research and community engagement.
