International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

17 May 2023

IDAHOBIT is on Wednesday, 17 May

International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

At our University we take a holistic approach that celebrates individuals and their many identities so that we are a truly inclusive organisation.

We aim to create an inclusive, diverse and accessible environment where it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure all members of our University community are treated with fairness, dignity, respect and have a sense of belonging.

We therefore invite you to help us mark the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) on Wednesday, 17 May at a number of events.

Patrick Hackett, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer and ALLOUT ally, said “As Executive Sponsor for the LGBT Staff Network, I am committed to achieving full LGBT+ inclusion, recognising we still have lots to do for our non-binary and trans colleagues at Manchester. IDAHOBIT is not only a day for celebration, but, looking ahead, also an opportunity for raising awareness of the inclusion work that remains to be done – so please take the time on 17 May to think about how we can all work together and ensure that our LGBT+ colleagues feel safe, included and respected on campus.”
