Learn about homelessness on Giving Tuesday

29 Nov 2019

After Black Friday and & Cyber Monday, why not support Giving Tuesday - the movement dedicated to giving back.

DePaul volunteers

Giving Tuesday on Tuesday 3rd December is a global day to give time, money or skills to support good causes and our local communities.

Many of you who attended the Staff Fair yesterday got to meet and talk to volunteers from DePaul, a local charity based on Oxford Road that empower young people experiencing homelessness. They support over 3,500 young homeless people across the UK every year by providing a wide range of accommodation and support services. This includes their Nightstop service which provides a room for a night within a home, for which they are currently seeking volunteers. Beth from DePaul will give a short talk about their service and Nightstop followed by a short Q&A.

The event will take place at 1pm in the Blackett Lecture Theatre, Schuster Building, Brunswick Street. See Building 54 on the campus map.

To book on this event just follow the Eventbrite link.

Across the north and south campus there will be plenty of other events to mark this day.

·         Headstart CPR training (bookable – North Campus)

·         A talk and demo by Hearing Dogs - a local charity on Oxford Road for homeless young people (Book via Eventbrite
