IT Services for Research group launches forums for academic/research staff

12 Apr 2013

The first forum will run on 24 April (1-2pm) in Roscoe Building, Room 3.3, with light refreshments available in the ground floor foyer from 12.30pm (please note change of venue).

The IT Services for Research group is establishing bi-monthly forums for academic/research staff, the first of which is taking place on 24 April.

IT Services supports research and has a cross-University group - IT Services for Research (ITSfR) - that oversees such and reports to the IT Leadership Team. Every other month, on the last Wednesday of the month, the group aims to present an open forum on various topics of interest, both to those who support researchers and for researchers themselves.

At this first event, IT Service Catalogue project manager Greg Barclay will present, and then hold a discussion on:

  • The IT Service Catalogue - with special regard to research support

The emerging IT Service Catalogue describes all the services offered by Central, Faculty, Library and Research IT teams University-wide. It has several views and levels of detail aimed both at academic users of services and support staff. It will be a "living document" as services change with planned improvements, or new ones are added, and no longer needed ones removed.

We hope that you will join us for this first IT Services for Research forum and look forward to meeting on 24 April.
