Eggs-ellent way of getting together!

10 Apr 2013

Student volunteers have helped to organise a Spring Egg Hunt and Egg and Spoon Relay Race for the local community.

The Ashburne Spring Egg Hunt, the first event of its kind at the University, was organised in partnership with a student residents association.

The aim was to engage with local families and to educate students about their wider community.  It was also an opportunity to allow local families, who may not have had contact with the University before, the opportunity to engage with our staff and students.

The Egg Hunt forms part of a wider project to continue building relationships between students and local residents.

Twenty local families attended the event, despite the weather, at Ashburne and Sheavyn Halls of Residence in Fallowfield.

Student Community Rep James Mitchell said: “I really enjoyed the event! It was nice to be able to integrate with the local community and watch the kids have a good time!”
