BBC Academy training in TV/radio for women academics

03 Apr 2013

Apply by Friday, 7 April if you're a female expert who wants to take part in television and radio programmes made in the North of England.

Interested in appearing on television and radio? There's an opportunity to train with BBC Academy at Media City - apply online by 7 April 2013. You must be available on 1 May 2013.

The BBC Academy in conjunction with BBC North is holding a free training day for women with particular expertise who are interested in appearing on television, on radio and online as contributors or presenters.

This is the culmination of a season of BBC North events designed to support the development of on-air talent. This event will help boost the representation of women in the media in particular areas of specialty. It follows on from Expert Women’s Day events held by the BBC Academy in London.

The aim is to offer an introduction to the media, including practical experiences in front of a camera and in a radio studio, as well as masterclasses with industry professionals including experienced programme makers.

If you have expertise in any of the following areas, and you are interested in contributing to television, radio and online content, and you can also be in MediaCityUK, Salford, on Wednesday, 1 May 2013, then the BBC Academy wants to hear from you.
