This year, the University has teamed up with Boots to offer you a discounted* flu vaccination for £11.04 (saving 15% off the standard £12.99 fee).
So, what is flu exactly?
Influenza, or flu, is a common infection in the UK. There are many different strains of the flu virus every year and symptoms can include fever, headache, sore throat and all-over aches and pains.
Most flu outbreaks usually happen in late autumn or winter and for most people it’s an unpleasant, but not life threatening, condition -the Boots' Winter Flu Jab Service can help you keep flu bugs at bay.
What does the flu vaccination do?
The current winter flu vaccination is designed to protect against the viruses responsible for causing most cases of flu, including the H1N1 (swine flu) virus. It’s a simple and quick way to help you fight the bug and stay healthy throughout the winter months.
What to do with your Winter Flu Jab Voucher
The Winter Flu Jab voucher entitles you to a 15% discount on the flu vaccination service. Simply take your voucher to your nearest participating store. The Winter Flu Jab voucher is valid until 31 December 2012.

Vouchers have been distributed to all five Local HR Teams across campus, the Equality and Diversity Office, Staff Training and Development Unit and Occupational Health Services at Waterloo Place.
