BWPI Research Director to chair prestigious RSA lecture

13 Nov 2012

Professor Rorden Wilkinson has been invited to chair the forthcoming Thomas Pogge lecture at the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) in London on 20 November.

This is part of the RSA’s prestigious and popular public lecture programme.

Pogge is director of the Global Justice Program and Leitner Professor of Philosophy and International Affairs at Yale University. He has emerged as one of the world’s most influential and challenging political philosophers.

At the RSA, Thomas Pogge will speak on the structural causes of the persistence of poverty and argue that much of today's severe poverty constitutes a human rights violation committed through supranational rule design.
