Launch of the Student Mental Health Forum

27 Sep 2012

Developed for those involved in supporting students with mental health difficulties

The Student Mental Health Forum (SMHF) has been developed by the Counselling Service, in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University Counselling Service, local NHS and voluntary services, for those involved in supporting students with mental health difficulties.  The Forum provides an opportunity to develop and build partnerships across services, to gain information and updates on service developments, and help navigate and access the various support services.

A new website has been developed by the University of Manchester Counselling Service, with input from all partners, to support the Student Mental Health Forum.  The Student Mental Health Forum website contains information about the various University, NHS and voluntary support services, as well as how these services can be accessed.  Also included on the website is guidance on dealing with students with mental health difficulties, from how to raise concern to managing confidentiality.

We hope you find the website a useful resource, and would value your feedback along with any suggestions for how we can continue to improve the site.  Please send comments to:
