Askme 2012: welcoming new students

The annual campus-wide campaign to welcome new students to The University of Manchester has launched.
Thousands of "askme" badges and pocket guides have been distributed to staff and PEER mentors in readiness for Welcome Week.
Recipients are asked to wear the badges throughout the first two weeks of the semester (17-28 September) at least and to be prepared to help students find answers to any questions they may have.
Askme desks will be located as follows:
- Foyer of University Place, Monday 17 – Friday 28 September (8.30am to 5pm)
- Renold Building, Monday 17 – Friday 21 September (9am – 5pm)
Student Ambassadors will be located across the campus with "askme" lollipops.
They will be complemented by an "askme" Help and Support tab on the new-look My Manchester for students, which can be accessed by staff at:
The campaign is being co-ordinated by Jennifer Williams, Student Recruitment and Communications Manager in the Directorate for the Student Experience, who said: "It's an extremely busy time for us - much more so than last year because there are additional 'askme' points in Schools for 2012, and all members of staff have been issued with 'askme' badges and pocket guides."
