Keeping your tax affairs in order

The University is taking part in a pilot scheme aimed at improving the way PAYE works.

Under the Real Time Information (RTI) scheme, the University will now tell HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) about tax, National Insurance contributions and other deductions when, or before, the payments are made. This is instead of waiting until after the end of the tax year.

As a member of University staff you shouldn’t notice any major change, but you should receive any information from HMRC more quickly, helping you to keep your tax affairs in order.
